Privacy Policy

Slate (“we”, “the app”) is a voice-first task tool for small teams. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
- Google account basics — when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier. This is your login; we support no other sign-in method.
- Google Calendar data — with your consent, we read the events on your primary calendar and store, for each one, its time, title, guest list and their responses, location, organiser and video-meeting link. We use this to find you free time, to place task bookings around your existing commitments, and to show a meeting with its details rather than as an unlabelled block. We write only the events we create for you: events we did not create are never modified or deleted, and we never respond to invitations on your behalf. We do not store event descriptions. Within your workspace, colleagues can see your events and their times; guests who are not members of your workspace are shown to you only, never to your colleagues.
- Voice recordings and transcripts — audio you record in the app is stored so it can be played back, and transcribed so your tasks are searchable. Your original words are never overwritten.
- Work data — the tasks, projects, comments, attachments, and schedule entries you and your teammates create.
How we use it
Solely to provide the app to you and your workspace: turning speech into tasks, scheduling them on your calendar, and showing your team who is doing what. Voice audio is processed by speech-to-text and language-model providers strictly to produce your transcript and task draft; it is not used to train their models under our agreements.
Google user data — Limited Use
Slate’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security, or where required by law.
Storage and security
Data is stored in MongoDB Atlas (encrypted at rest and in transit). Google access tokens are additionally encrypted in an application-level vault and are never exposed to the browser or logged.
Sharing
Your work data is visible to the members of your workspace — that is the product. We do not sell data, do not serve ads, and do not share data with third parties except the infrastructure and AI processors named above, acting on our instructions.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept while your workspace is active. You can delete tasks, recordings, and attachments in the app; deleting removes the underlying files. To delete your account and all associated data, or to revoke calendar access (also possible at myaccount.google.com/permissions), contact us and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
